CHOCOLATE BROWNIES WITH HAZELNUTS

CHOCOHOLIC'S DELIGHT

 


Ingredients:

  • Plain Chocolate - 200 gm (broken into pieces) 
  • White Chocolate - 75 gm (broken into pieces) 
  • Flour - 1/2 cup
  • Butter - 3 tbsp
  • Eggs -  2 (optional)
  • Sugar - 50gm
  • Hazelnuts - 50gm (toasted under a hot grill and chopped)
  • Vanilla extract- 3tsp 
  • A pinch of salt
  • Baking powder - 1/4 tsp

 

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180°C . Line a square baking tin with nonstick paper.

Put the butter and chocolate into a bowl and set over a saucepan of gently simmering water. Leave until melted.

In a large glass bowl beat the eggs and add sugar, flour, baking powder, vanilla extract and salt.  This  is very quickly done using an electric whisk at top speed. Beat the mixture until they are thick and pale.

Pour the melted chocolate and butter mixture on the top of the whisked egg mixture and fold it in with  a metal spoon, then gently fold in the white chocolate and nuts.

Pour the mixture into the tin, then bake (20 to 30 minutes) in the oven until slightly risen and crusty looking. Cool on a wire rack.
